What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is inserted directly into the jawbone.

Once healing is complete and the process of osseointegration (the fusion of the implant with the bone) is finished, the chosen restoration (crown, bridge, partial or full denture) can be placed.

Dental implants can prevent surrounding teeth from shifting, help resolve bite problems or jaw joint pain, and provide structure to your face.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

While there are several effective ways to replace one or more missing teeth, one stands out for its strength, durability, and versatility: the dental implant. This artificial root allows for the efficient replacement of multiple teeth at once, depending on the type of restoration placed on it.

The Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants are small titanium screws that are inserted into the jawbone during surgery.

The dentist makes an incision in the jaw and inserts the implant into the bone. During the healing process, the bone reforms and bonds with the implant.

You must wait four to twelve months before returning to the clinic to complete the procedure.

During this final consultation, your dentist will attach a dental replacement, crown, bridge, or denture to recreate the appearance and function of a natural tooth.
