Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At Clinique Dentaire Écladent, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run smoothly. Because we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with dental care while making sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic film for X-rays. They produce detailed computer images of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures, allowing for the examination of areas in the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. They are often used to plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions, and implants.
CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC® technology is a system that allows for the fabrication and placement of ceramic crowns and inlays in a single appointment. This process uses a digital camera to capture an accurate impression of your teeth, eliminating the need for traditional, often uncomfortable molds. In addition to reducing the number of visits, this technology provides aesthetic and long-lasting results.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners allow for the creation of digital dental impressions, offering a modern and convenient alternative to traditional impressions, which are often messy and time-consuming. Using an optical scanning wand, your dentist captures a detailed digital image of your teeth in just a few minutes, making dental treatments easier and more efficient.
Cone Beam Cat Scan
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bones in the craniofacial region in a single scan. The images obtained with CBCT allow for more precise planning of your dental treatments.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and precancerous lesions. The screening can be performed at the clinic during routine check-ups under normal lighting conditions and takes about two minutes.
CariVu
Thanks to the CariVu device, it is possible to detect early stages of dental decay, bacterial infiltration around restorations, pit and fissure caries, and cracks. This device uses near-infrared light (NIR) or transillumination. The process is relatively simple. First, the base of the tooth is exposed to light, which illuminates the enamel (the protective layer of the tooth) and the dentin (the main structure of the tooth) from the bottom up. This transillumination of the tooth structure is then captured and recorded by a camera, which transmits the data to processing software that analyzes the shading to detect any anomalies.
Thanks to its radiation-free technology, the CariVu device can also be used for pregnant women, unlike X-rays that are sometimes used to diagnose the same conditions and pathologies.
